Teaching & Mentoring

Training, supervision, mentoring, and technical instruction in crop physiology, plant breeding, and data analysis.

Mentoring And Training

My teaching and mentoring work is rooted in experimental design, field and controlled-environment phenotyping, plant physiology measurements, metabolomics workflows, and reproducible data analysis. I have mentored students, technicians, junior researchers, and collaborative project teams across crop physiology, plant breeding, and molecular phenotyping activities.

Training Areas

  • Crop physiology and phenotyping: gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, water status, above- and belowground trait measurement, and phenology scoring.
  • Metabolomics and ionomics: sample preparation, GC-MS/LC-MS and ICP-OES workflows, metabolite identification, spectral curation, quantification, and interpretation.
  • Root and shoot trait analysis: root system architecture, rootstock-mediated traits, ion partitioning, and root-shoot integration under abiotic stress.
  • Data analysis and modeling: R, Python, multivariate analysis, machine learning, network analysis, genotype-by-environment analysis, and trait-performance modeling.
  • Crop improvement: field trial design, hybrid development, heterosis and combining ability analysis, germplasm characterization, and variety development pipelines.
